Play with colors
When I see yarn in beautiful shades and delicious qualities, I have to take it home – and this has resulted in a yarn stock that has gradually become quite extensive. Do you know that?
This year I have decided to take a new approach to my textile design. I will be inspired by this year's RAL colors - a color palette that has really caught my attention.

My plan is to select 3-4 of these colors to be a recurring theme in my designs. I will combine them with yarn from my existing inventory, creating a more cohesive and structured collection. It also gives me the opportunity to declutter my inventory and think more about my choices.

Color theory
Colors have an incredible ability to evoke emotions and create moods. That's why it's important to consider how colors play together. One of the techniques I use is the color wheel. It's a classic method in color theory that looks at how colors can be combined harmoniously.

You can work with complementary colors, which create a sharp contrast, or analogous colors, which are close together and give a more subdued effect. It will be interesting to see how the colors I choose can be combined to create something unique and inspiring.
2025 – colors and design
I can't wait to see what comes out of it! I'm definitely going to feel limited. And will the colors I choose continue to inspire me throughout the process? I imagine they can act as a creative compass and help me create balance and harmony in my textiles. I'm looking forward to seeing how the colors can open up new combinations and designs.
The next thing to do is decide which weaving techniques and products I want to focus on in 2025. Thank you for reading and follow along here in my design phase.
