Weave your own functional and popular dishcloths in 100% linen
They are woven on 4 shafts and treadles in a stramaj (huckaback) structure, which creates an open weave that makes the cloth easy to wring out.
These dishcloths are woven in 16/2 linen from Kinna. Weave them in a sea of colours on the same warp. They are simple and quick to make, and perfect as gifts — or just for yourself and your kitchen.
In our beautiful kitchens, the dishcloth is always on display, so it needs to fit in, be simple, and create a calm, clean look. It should absorb well and dry quickly.
A handwoven linen dishcloth has fantastic properties. It absorbs moisture efficiently, dries fast, and linen is naturally bacteriostatic — meaning it inhibits bacterial growth, so bacteria do not develop as easily in the cloth. Linen fibres are long and produce a textile that is very durable. Linen is a natural material, and when the dishcloth is finally worn out, it can be composted.
Wash the dishcloth at 60ºC and tumble dry it, or hang it on the line — which is more environmentally friendly and will make your dishcloth last longer.
The finished size is approx. 30×30 cm.
